Give Condition with Conditionals

Condition word-টি শুনলেই মনে হয় কোনো শর্তের কথা বলছে তাই না? Sentence conditionals-ও তার ব্যতিক্রম কিছু না। 

সহজ কথায় বলতে, Conditional হলো একটি complex sentence যেখানে dependent clause আর  independent clause, IF দিয়ে যুক্ত থাকে।

এখানে dependent clause-টি if দিয়ে start হয় এজন্য, একে if clause বলে আর independent clause-কে বলে main clause. 

যেমন: 

• If you come, I will leave.
• If it rains, I will not go.

এখানে, If you come এবং If it rains হলো dependent clause কারণ তারা একা complete meaning express করে না, এর সাথে independent clause-  I will leave এবং I will not go add করতে হয়েছে। অর্থাৎ, if clause-টি হলো condition এবং main clause-টি হলো result. মনে রাখবে if clause-টি sentence-এর 1st part বা 2nd part যে কোনোটাতেই থাকতে পারে। এখন চলো জেনে নেই English-এ কত ধরনের conditionals আছে। 

Types of conditionals: 

Chart-টি দেখতে পাচ্ছও Sentence conditionals 5 ধরনের হয়ে থাকে। Zero conditional, 1st conditional, 2nd conditional, 3rd conditional এবং mixed conditional. এবার চলো এদের সম্পর্কে details-এ জেনে নেই। 

Types	Definition	Sentence Structure	Examples
Zero conditional	Zero conditional এমন situation-কে refer  করে যা সবসময় সত্য হয়।	If + present simple + Comma (,) present simple	Example: If you eat junk food, you gain weight. If it rains, roads get muddy.
1st conditional	1st conditional দিয়ে এমন situation-কে refer করে যা হতে পারে আবার নাও হতে পারে।	If + present simple + comma + infinitive	Example: If she goes, I will tell you. If you need a pen, I will buy it for you.
2nd conditional	2nd conditional এমন situation-কে refer করে যা হওয়া impossible, বা হলেও possibility খুবই কম।	If + past indefinite + principal clause or, Principal clause + if + past indefinite.	Example: If I were the manager, I could hire you. If You were the king, you could save the empire.
3rd conditional	3rd conditional past-এর এমন situation-কে refer করে, যে আগের eventটি অন্যরকম হলে present situation-ও অন্য রকম হতো, কিন্তু তা হয়নি।	If + past perfect + perfect conditional এবং perfect conditional-এর sentence structure-টা হবে, subject + should have/ would have/ could have/ might have +  past participle form of verb	Example: If I had played the football match, I would have scored one. If you had sat for the exam, you would have passed.
Mixed conditional	সাধারণত Polite request বুঝাতে mixed conditional ব্যাবহার করা হয়।	যখন speaker মনে করে যে listener তার condition বা request শুনবে তখন If you could + verb present form – দিয়ে sentence শুরু হয়। এখানে principal clause silent থাকে।	Example: If you could bring that book for me. If you could hire an employee.
যখন speaker বা  listener কোনো wish exchange করতে চায় তখন If + want/wish অথবা If + would like/care দিয়ে sentence শুরু হয়।	Example: If you want to go, I can go with you. If you would like to have a cup of coffee, I can wait.

সবগুলো structure একসাথে একটি টেবিলে দেখানো হয়েছে, আশা করি বুঝতে পেরেছো। তোমার সুবিধা এবং প্রয়োজন অনুসারে conditiopnal-এর সাথে structure মিলিয়ে বাসায় বেশি বেশি practice করতে থাকো, তাহলে আরো clearly বুঝতে পারবে। Good luck!
